You can use our Honorary Memberships feature to guide your existing supporters on other platforms to become Withfriends members by nudging them, instead of inconveniencing them.  Here's how.

Nudging supporters to migrate

#1 - Navigate to honorary memberships

You can create these to match their existing levels and benefits if they had them - or you can create just one catch-all tier to extend a default set of benefits (like 25% shows plus one guest).  This might suffice, because you probably weren't offering Withfriends style benefits earlier, because it was too hard -- so a simple benefit structure can be a nice solution

#2 - Select the migration option 

Make sure to choose Donor here: 

Choose Patreon here (this should be better named!)

Members imported this way will receive a custom letter designed especially for helping migrate to withfriends.

Pro-tip: You can ignore the option "How much do they donate to your movement?".  It was an idea for helping you consolidate information, but it's just for your own records, it doesn't change anything on Withfriends.

#3 - Import your supporters

Now you can import members one-by-one, or by CSV.  More information on how to do that here.

When you're done, scroll to the bottom and click save!

The member experience

Honorary members will reminders to migrate to Withfriends, at their option, but we  don't require them to migrate to receive benefits.

As an example, here's a few screenshots from a fictitious organization called "Kunal Jewellers"

When these members use Withfriends, they'll have reminders placed in reasonable places nudging them to port platforms.

If and when they migrate, we also help remind them to cancel payments on the previous platform.

Requiring supporters to migrate

If you want to require supporters to migrate  - to consolidate payments, benefits, and member management, two techniques that can help.

a)  Before you import the members, send them a heads up.  Ask them to click the Migrate to Withfriends button in their upcoming member benefits letter.

b) After you import the members, use the member messaging features (the email button below) to remind members to migrate every week, until there are 0 members in your honorary tier.
