Tips for organizers to make sure people attend events.

Check out this article for great tips and tricks on boosting your reach to attendees to create successful events.

☑️ Share every event!

You can’t get new members if you don’t send people to withfriends — It sounds basic, but the primary reason people don’t buy tickets in advance is that the link isn’t in front of them

Use the “Share” tools to post the event on social media (the previews look great!) and pull the direct event page link from there

✔️ Do you have a Facebook event page? — Add the link in the “tickets” link

✔️️ Do you have a newsletter? An events section on your website? — make a button or a big easy to see link that goes directly to the event page

✔️ You can also link to the full list of upcoming events as well — especially if you have a social media account like Instagram with a limited amount of links — and just refer to your bio for buying tickets

☑️ Tell people to buy tickets or RSVP

Sounds simple — but after you’ve got the links in place you’ll need to point people to it and tell them to go for it!

Will the show run out? Is it cheaper to buy tickets ahead of time? Don’t forget to tell them — highlight in your messaging that people shouldn’t just show up, but they should engage ahead of time.

The best promoters we know swear by pre-sale for every event.

☑️ Post and Post and Post

If you’re using Facebook or Instagram — you wanted post constantly about your upcoming events —the best promoters we know recommend posting as often as 3 times a day about an upcoming program. It sounds like a lot, but it increases the chance your audience will see your event at all.

You don’t have to post explicitly be about the show — Instead, you share links, videos, and photos of performers and participating organizations (if you do that, cross-link them so that it shows up on their platforms as well)

The key is to make sure you use that opportunity to point people back to buying tickets or RSVPing for your event!

If you can make a redirect through your URL directly to the event page on withfriends — great! Like https://my.organization/events

Otherwise use a service like bit.ly to link create a short and custom link directly to the event page, so that you can text or facebook message it easily, or add it to flyers and posters.

Send out a bunch of texts to friends or VIPs and ask them to jump in!

Facebook messenger has a great feature when sharing links where it displays all your recent/most relevant friends, which makes it easy to share with a bunch of people really quickly.

And flyers or cards should never be underestimated — especially in tandem, with all the above actions — just don’t forget to add the same direct ask as everyone else! Include the link to your tickets and point people to it — this is your “Call To Action”.
