Onsite Ticketing

In addition to selling tickets online on Withfriends, you may also want to collect cash or swipe cards for ticketing payments onsite. There are many Event Organizers using Withfriends that do this, like Spectacle Theater (Cash) or Bluestockings Bookstore (Square).

Every piece of technology is excellent when used for exactly its' designed purpose, and quite clumsy when used for anything else. Because of this, we always recommended identifying your key needs agnostic of a platform, and then putting together the toolkit that best achieves that aim. This guide is a brief overview of the types of needs you might have as an Events Organizer that also needs to charge for tickets, concessions, merch, or other products onsite, and describes strategies for how to achieve this using Withfriends and Square (for collecting card payments) or Cash. There are many other tools you could use, like Venmo/Paypal or Shopify Pro, for example, that might serve specific use cases better, but those would be iterations of this guidance.
